  New Hope-Solebury Basketball Team Mission Statement  

The New Hope-Solebury basketball program mission is to provide student athletes with a positive team experience.  Each athlete must be a student in the classroom first and then a student on the court. Each student athlete will be expected to demonstrate leadership, respect, teamwork, diversity, fundamental skills, hard work, goal setting and be able to perform at an intense level at all times. The student-athlete will be expected to participate in community out-reaches, fundraisers, and camps.

Each ticket will be $20.00 each.

The drawing will be held on Senior Night

The Lions Fall Short at Church Farm

The Lions opened league play on Tuesday night as they traveled to Chruch Farm. The Lions got an early jump on the Giffins and led at the end of the first quarter 14-10. The Giffins closed the gap at the end of the 2nd quarter of 23-20 with a 3 pointer buzzer beater by Job Bol Ajak. The Lions were held to just 6 points and the end of three and trailed 30-29.

A driving layup by Kevin Dougherty tied the game at 31 with 6:22 left in the fourth, but the Lions couldn't overcome the hot shooting Giffins. The Lions dropped their 3rd game of the early season. Sr. Kevin Dougherty leads the Lions scores with 15 points. Sr. Nick Garritno finished with 14 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assist, Connor Wallace had 8 points and 4 rebounds, while Topher Taylor was plagued with foul trouble finished with 6 points. 

The Lions look to get momentum on Friday night at Calvary Christian Gametime is 5#0 for JV and 7:00 Varsity.

 

Lion's Drop Season Opener in Upper Moreland Tip-off

The Lions traveled to Upper Moreland on December 8th and 9th for the Upper Moreland Tip-Off tournament. In game one the Lions lost to Upper Moreland 43-28. The Lions were lead by returning Sr. Kevin Dougherty with 10 points, Sr. Nick Garritano 9 points, 10 rebounds and Jr. Topher Taylor 8 points. The Lions held a 14-11 halftime lead, but just could get the shots to fall in the 2nd half.

In the 2nd game of the tip-off the Lions face Upper Perk on Saturday afternoon. In a close game the Lions fell 56-54. The Lions were down 27-25 at the half. New Hope-Solebury trailed by as many as 7 points before they took the lead by 4 with less than one minute left in the game. Nick Garritano inbounded the ball to Topher Taylor at the 3 PT line with just 1.0 seconds on the clock and the shot just missed. The Lions were led by Sr. Nick Garritano with 20 points and 8 rebounds, Sr. Kevin Dougherty 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, and Jr. Topher Taylor 13 points and 11 rebounds. Connor Wallace rounded out the Lions scoring with 6 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assist.
